Bob, James, and Fred Mathia

James Mathia (West Bend, WI.), Bob Mathia (Franklin, WI.) and Fred Mathia (Ypsilanti, MI.) are all descendants of Joseph Mathia (born abt 1833) and Marcyanna Slomionka (born 1836). Joseph & Marcyanna were married January 14, 1863 & raised their family in the town of Reetz, Kr. Tuchel, West Prussia. They emigrated to the United States and arrived in the port of New York on April 14, 1881.  Per the New York Passenger List, they traveled aboard the S.S.Parthia, which left from the ports of Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland with four of their children (all sons):  Johann, Anton, Joseph and Franz, and settled in the farm community of Berlin (Green Lake County) in the central part of the state of Wisconsin. FRANZ is the grandfather of James and the great-grandfather of Fred; JOSEPH is the grandfather of Bob. Our research has not turned-up any evidence regarding the 4th son JOHANN.
