Home : History : Eugénie, Aline and Jeanne THOUVENIN : Footnote 33

The fountain where Henriette got her culinary water until 1944 was against that wall,
across from the house. Aline remembered the soldiers during the first world war,
breaking the ice around that fountain to get washed in the winter when returning
from the battle front. They stripped down to the waist.

The door to the Poinsignon farm was just on the right side of the fountain, a few feet away.
